This particular case was very reminiscant of Agatha Christie’s Death on the Nile and I really liked the isolated cruise ship location. Throughout each book in the series, Stevens is able to build up character motives and carefully plot out each murder for Daisy and Hazel to solve. Despite being marketed as ‘children’s books’, The Murder Most Unladylike series continues to have impressive and complex murder cases that I really enjoy reading and solving. I really enjoyed the plot of Death Sets Sail and thought it was the perfect way to end the series.

With danger all around them, can the young detectives slueth out the true killer? And more importantly can they make it back home in one piece? Everybody in the society had a motive and more importantly there has been death in The Breath of Life before. What seems at first like an open and shut murder proves to be a lot more complicated than initially thought. When the leader of the group is then found stabbed to death with her sleep-walking daughter covered in blood, Daisy and Hazel are excited for yet another case. Amina and Daisy both scoff at the group but the young detectives can’t help but notice some severe tensions amongst the group members. Also aboard the ship is The Breath of Life Society, a group (or cult as Daisy puts it) of people who believe themselves to be the reincarnations of the Ancient Pharaohs. After some city sightseeing, the group board a cruise ship along the Nile, where they meet up with The Junior Pinkertons as well as Hazel’s family.
